also how many gallons?
i'm trying to convince my parents to let me paint so i thought that if i said i'd pay for it they would agree.How much would paint cost for an 11 by 14 room?assuming you don't have another color in there that will take lots and lots of coats to cover up, you can expect to get around 400 sq ft from a gallon.
i'll save you the mental algebra - if you have standard 8 ft high ceilingsthat'ss 11x8 for two walls plus 14x8 for two walls which is exactly 400 sq ft.
Knowing that you always have some wasted, spilled, stuck to the inside of the can, etc. you'd need to figure 2 gallons for sure. A decent brand at Home Depot and the like should run about $25, maybe on sale. Really good paint can be $45 (Benjamin Moore, etc)
Don't forget to plan for the cost of a roller and covers, plastic drop cloths, masking tape, etc. too, so you have what you need to do a good job. Another $10 would get you the basics.
Come back to mom and dad prepared with all this info and I hope they will let you do it. Painting is alot of work but mostly in the preparation - but it's also a fun and easy way to get alot of impact in your space and the right color can really influence your moods!
