How much money do I need to bring to Japan?

Me and three friends are going for a 2 week (16 days to be exact) holiday to Japan. We're trying to keep it as cheap as possible and I was wondering how much money realistically we should take. Travel costs when we are there, hotels and essentials are all already paid for. Breakfast on most days and dinner for 5 days is included. We are travelling all over Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima etc). How much money do I need to bring to Japan?well acording to me, ( i have been to japan) I took about 700 US, dollars when i went to japanHow much money do I need to bring to Japan?Welcome to MOSQUE. You have been transferred here due to the obvious fact that you made no effort to search the forum database before asking. This has the implication that you may think that your particular visit to Japan is somehow %26quot;special%26quot; and therefore unrelated to the costs that many other posters have made on this matter. However, we are here to help.

It would seem that you are covered on the plane fare issue. Very good, that is yet another silly question that people always ask and fail to search the database for. The hotels, ditto, once again an avoidance. Since the meals seem to be included, that leaves another thing to be counted out.

Then the question seems to come down to just travel and other expenditures, doesn't it. Well, typical bullet train service from Tokyo to Kyoto will run you around 12,000 yen, give or take a couple of thousand yen. You will find the same to be true between Kyoto and Hiroshima. You may find it advisable to buy a JR pass, that will allow you to travel anywhere and prove to be an expense saving option. If my memory serves me correctly, which it does not always do, a 14 day pass is available that will suit your needs.

So how much? I would suggest you do a web search on the cost of a JR pass, and then put yourself on a budget on how much money you spend a day, because it seems that you have all the other bases covered.

We hope that we have been helpful. I regret to inform you that we do not currently have a website. Our work is primarily by email. Only the occasional person drops in to ask a silly question and we can't really afford to have a video team available all the time to catch it on film. However, our affiliate Minsitry, MOSW, the Ministry Of Silly Walks does have a video to show you the concern that we have on these situations. Please visit....
