It's not that simple. It varies from industry to industry, keyword to keyword and website to website.
You won't know the cost of running adverts on google until you start an account and setup a campaign. Google will then tell you how much you have to pay to have your advert appear on the first page of google when a potential customer uses a particular keyword (a keyword you choose). The cost of this varies depending on the popularity of the keyword, the relevance and success of your landing page and more. You can setup a campaign and budget it though so there's no risk to some extent. You can just put a tenner on for the month if you want (unlikely to get you far though!).
If you're talking about organic listings.. You can't buy organic listings. You just need to know how to build a quality website, advertise well, link build and be very patient.
If you're talking about the autocomplete when you type into Google search or the suggestion search terms at the bottom of the results page. That is based purely on Google's data of what people are usually trying to find when they use certain terms. You can't buy that either.

If you want your web site to appear on the first page of a Google search then your site must have good solid content with good, well researched keywords. Good knowledge of how the Google spiders work and a good knowledge of how to interprate their findings and put them to work. In other words your site must be in the top 1 or 2 percent of sites. This is not impossible, many people without web site experience have done it. It does require that you find your niche market (not too well supplied) and it does require your dedication and love of that particular subject. Your love of the subject will shine through as you write, your well researched key words will play a big part in your success and your content will make it happen for you..
