Why?
To me, making a bike means making the frame. So, do you have fabrication skills? Most likely not. So, you need to go to school to learn how to weld and fabricate. You need to go to school to obtain machining skills. Schooling cost money. Then you need the welder and all the fabrication equipment. You need pipe bending equipment. You need machining equipment. Need a jig for holding the tubing in place while you weld. More equipment needed if you chose to tackle an aluminum frame. Welding an aluminum frame requires a TiG welder. That machine alone will cost about $2,000 USD.
Then there is about another $2,000 to $4,000 USD for tools.
And the room for all the equipment and tools. Do you own a house with a garage? If not, then you need to either A) buy a house with garage $100,000 to $250,000 depending where you call home, or B) rent a work space for about $1000 to $2000 USD per month. Plus utilities and insurance.
And this process will take about 4 years or more.
